Hi,we hear a lot about Church's being sold,or closed,can someone tell me if St.Marys Brent Pelham is still open?.

Yes, still going pretty strong, but being a small (176 souls) parish we share a vicar. Currently Rev. Carol Kimberley looks after Brent Pelham, Great and little Hormead,Wydial, Anstey and Meesden. We are lucky therefore that we still have two services per month plus the special occassions. Little Hormead church is looked after by the redundant churches organisation and has occassional sevices. The others are all used like Brent Pelham.
Structurely St. Mary`s is pretty sound. For this we have to thank a rolling programme of repairs plus the Victorians, who heavily "improved" the church. One might question their style but they were very good builders.
Anyhow the church is very much appreciated by the locals and, judging by the visitors book, a good many passers by.
